Biology

Dr. Laura Pate

Dr. Pate is not only an experienced science educator but is also a Board-Certified Doctor of Chiropractic. In 2001, she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and in 2005 she graduated Magna Cum Laude with an additional Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007 from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.

Dr. Pate has been teaching high school Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Forensic Science online for more than 12 years. Prior to teaching virtually, she taught at all education levels. In addition, she enjoys having the opportunity to practice with her husband in their own private chiropractic office.

Dr. Pate grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and has lived in Martin County, Florida since 2007. She first discovered classical education when trying to find the right educational fit for her daughter and began volunteering to start a classical K-12 charter school in Martin County, FL. This is where she now serves as vice chairwoman on the Governing Board. Dr. Pate also serves as a board member on the newly established Classical Educational Network, with the goal of expanding classical education throughout the state.

In her spare time, Dr. Pate enjoys beach time with her family and their two chocolate labs, Porter and Kona. Her hobbies are reading, playing games with the family, traveling, playing with the dogs and cats, and fitness.
